Dropped is a fascinating, lyrical and thought-provoking show. Funny and witty, dark and sad, this is a show that shouldn’t be missed.
Myf Clark for Beat Magazine
A darkly comic two-hander by award-winning playwright Katy Warner, in which military traditions blend with broken hearts and just a hint of Beckett …
Set in a room that is filling with snow, two women soldiers sift through the debris to find a sense of themselves amongst the memories and lies, pop-culture references and stereotypes. They have been told to protect the base but it’s been so quiet for so long and the vodka has run out, the radio is broken and the baby won’t stop crying.

Reviews
Dropped provides a theatre experience that is not to be missed at this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival; creating satisfying entertainment for theatre-goers who are up for the unusual and thought provoking. 4.5 / 5 stars – ArtsHub, October 2013
… Dropped is a very strong piece of theatre. Katy Warner’s script is brutal and moving in turns … If you like Beckett riffs and occasional screaming, along with smart writing and gripping, even sickening tension, then Dropped will provide. – Crickey, October 2013
There is an effective lyricism to the writing, as seemingly disconnected anecdotes are woven together through circular motifs. There are some funny moments, mostly dark and sometimes just outright absurd … The writing is witty and the two actors Olivia Monticciolo and Matilda Reed deliver their banter with confidence. While the message of the play is not explicitly stated, it draws out some interesting ideas about the way our brains cope with harsh realities and memories can quickly disappear – like snow on the tongue. – Beat Magazine, October 2013
